On that one warm day in February, I had the absolute privilege of photographing the union of two insanely beautiful people. I met Meriem a few days before and as she walked into the coffee shop we agreed to meet at, gorgeous curly hair all out, huge smile, I instantly knew two things: 1. This is going to be an amazing wedding and 2. I want to be this girl’s friend. She was fun, smart, totally in love and excited to have me take her wedding photos… it was a great formula for a great time.
We agreed on flowers and we agreed on places to go post-ceremony, she gave me some excellent tips on getting the old afro to look more goddess and less rubbish and then we checked the weather. I mean, it’s Denmark, the weather changes daily and sometimes even hourly. The weather reports will read “DEATH RAIN!!!” all week and come the day before, that death rain will randomly become death rain with 35km per hour winds. You just have to show up prepared for anything.
So, of course, we get the “it’s gonna rain on you” icon and we discuss options and ideas for how to deal with the rain in her beautiful mauve satin dress… we prepare, I wore my giant coat… we’re ready. And as I’m standing there before it’s time to meet up, the clouds part and the warmest winter sun decides to give me a break. I mean, it was legitimately warm for a winter day in Copenhagen!
I turn around and there before me are these two. Both beaming from ear to ear, glowing like the sun… I had SO MUCH FUN that day I just had to blog it. I wanted to Instagram spam every single day afterwards. Their wedding marked one of the best sessions of my 260+ wedding career, it was that special to me. Meant for each other is a complete understatement… this is some “same clay, same mold” romantic comedy stuff. And so, on this once again not so sunny day in Denmark, I happily would like to share a few images with you (I promise, it’s only 40).
Friends, this is Meriem and Jesse.
I’m so excited to photograph their wedding in Munich this summer!!! I just cannot wait to do this all over again!
Tillykke to the happiest couple I’ve worked with in a while, may you always be this happy.
