This is what happens when two of the most creative people I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing come together to design a wedding….
Caitlyn and Sabs were married one winter day at the Frederiksberg Rådhus (courthouse for those of you reading this who don’t speak Danish). They arrived in a rented Christiana bike with floral made that evening by Caitlyn.
Everything was perfectly color-coordinated, even down to the grey felt bag they carried their champagne in.
They made personalized ties… no really, Sabs made the ties and then personalized them.
They even made their own wedding rings… When I said, “really? You made your own wedding rings?!” Sabs answered, “it wasn’t that hard.”
And, of course, they made this sign…
They also made their own wedding cake and designed almost all the elements of their reception. Caitlyn screen printed the invites seen in the first photo for their Canadian large reception and works as a designer at the gorgeously awesome boutique, Fabelab. Truly the creative dynamo, I love following their instagram feeds (maybe a little too much… kind of a fangirl).

Caitlyn also hosts parties, classes for kids and adults and basically makes me giddy with DIY joy so make sure to follow her.
It took me a long time to blog this wedding, mostly because when I love something this much I want to do it the justice it deserves. I had a lot of time to think about my favorite images and how I wanted this perfect day in my career to come across.
At the end of the day, Caitlyn handed me an envelope with a note and a small brass tag inside marked simply with “251.” When we first met a few weeks beforehand I had told them my story and that they would be the 251st wedding in my long career as a wedding obsessed photographer…. they decided to commemorate that, and that small tag hangs proudly from my camera strap now.
I love this wedding as I love all weddings that come into my life… but it was this particular event that reinvigorated my passion and gave it new life. I will always be thankful to Caitlyn and Sabs for their trust in me. Their creativity and love inspired a new beginning that will never be forgotten.
Tillykke to them as they move closer to the end of their first year of marriage and the inspiration they have granted me in that time.
