Embla is truly one of the most talented people I know in Denmark. She is a designer with a love for board game design and everything she touches with her esthetic is gold. I met her working for Solosocks, she was the designer that came up with many ingenious concepts including the packaging, a sock-themed card game and an entire line of socks during our one-for-one campaign this past fall. I’m kind of a fan girl…

So when she asked me to take her maternity photos a month ago I immediately wanted to emulate her creativity in her images and threw out that maybe a good spot would be The Gyptoteket. My favorite museum, I often go there during the “free days” to find warm inspiration during the cold winter months. When I think of an artist like Embla I think of a place just as creative as she is. With the sprawling interior spaces, the perfectly lit halls, the gorgeous sculpture all over… it’s a wonderful place to just be and glean inspiration from. I walked away from our afternoon together with art in my heart for days later. It’s a magic place to take photos of a magical person.
